Personal Tailoring & Measurement
A fit that begins with a conversation.
Tell us what you are looking for, and our team will contact you to discuss your garment, measurements, and available tailoring options.
Who finds the service useful
Who finds the service useful
Personal tailoring is not reserved for formalwear. Most requests come from people whose measurements fall between sizes, or who want one specific detail done their way.
- You sit between two standard sizes and neither one is right.
- Sleeve or hem length never suits you off the rack — too short at the wrist, or too long at the ankle.
- You are dressing two or more people for the same day and want the pieces to sit together.
- You want a specific neckline, cuff or pocket arrangement for an occasion.
- You are buying for a child and would rather the garment be made to their height than guessed at.
Standard sizing, or made for you
Standard sizing, or made for you
Both routes are honest ones. The difference is what you trade: speed and certainty against exact fit and a chosen detail.
Ready to wear
- Choose a size and colour and the garment is yours as described.
- Fit follows the pattern's Regular or Relaxed cut.
- Length is the pattern's length; adjustments are not part of the purchase.
- Nothing further to arrange — the fastest route.
Personal tailoring
- Measurements are taken in one of the ways below and checked with you.
- Fit and length follow your preference rather than a pattern's.
- Price, timeline and any appointment fee are confirmed before the order proceeds.
- It takes longer, and it is the only route that removes the guesswork.
The process
The process
01
Choose your garment or share what you are looking for.
02
Send your contact details and location.
03
Our team contacts you to discuss measurements and preferences.
04
If feasible, we may arrange an in-person measurement appointment.
05
Review final garment details, price, and timeline before confirming.
In-person visits depend on location and availability. The team discusses requirements before confirming an appointment. Tailoring charges, visit fees and timelines are confirmed before a custom order proceeds.
For children's garments, a parent or guardian manages the request and any measurements.
Measurement options
Measurement options
Four ways to get a measurement set we can both trust. Choose whichever suits you — you can also ask us to help you choose.
In-person appointment
Measurements are taken with you present, subject to availability. Where an appointment fee applies, it is told to you before you book.
Guided remote measurements
We talk you through each measurement, one at a time, with a second person helping where possible. Slower, but it works well when an appointment is not practical.
Camera-assisted measurement
An experimental preview only. It asks your permission before the camera starts, you can stop it at any time, and it does not calculate or upload a measurement set. It is not a substitute for an appointment or guided measurement.
Help me choose
Tell us where you are, who the garment is for and the date you need it. We will recommend the method that fits that situation.
Camera-assisted measurement is a preview: it asks permission before starting, can be stopped at any time, and does not produce or upload a measurement set.
How a request is reviewed
How a request is reviewed
Every consultation is read by a person before anything is arranged. We check what you are asking for against what can actually be made and delivered, then reply with an honest position — including when ready-to-wear is the better answer.
What you confirm before an order
What you confirm before an order
A custom order only proceeds once you have seen and agreed all of the following:
- 01The garment: style, colour, size or measurement set.
- 02The measurements we will work from, read back to you.
- 03The price for that garment, with any appointment or service fee shown separately.
- 04The expected timeline, including the date you need it by.
- 05How the garment will reach you, and what happens if it does not suit.
Appointment availability
In-person appointments depend on where you are and when you need the garment, and we do not promise a slot until one is confirmed. If an appointment is not possible in time, guided remote measurement is usually the alternative. Tell us your date early — timing is what decides which route is realistic.
Pricing and timing
A tailored garment is quoted individually, because the price depends on the garment, the fabric chosen and the work involved. The same applies to timing. Nothing is charged and no order proceeds until the quote and the date have been confirmed with you.
Children's garments
Requests for children are managed by a parent or guardian, who takes the measurements and confirms the details. Camera-assisted measurement is not offered for a child.
Personal Tailoring & Measurement
Start with a conversation
Tell us who the garment is for, the date you need it, and how you would like to be measured. A person reads every request before anything is arranged.
Personal tailoring: your questions
Do I have to visit in person?
No. An in-person appointment is one option where availability allows; guided remote measurements are the usual alternative, and you can ask us to help you decide which suits.
How much does it cost?
It is quoted per garment, because the price follows the piece, the fabric and the work involved. Any appointment fee is shown separately before you book, and nothing is charged until you have agreed the quote.
How long does it take?
Timing is confirmed with your quote and depends on the garment and the fabric. Give us the date you need it by and we will say plainly whether that date is realistic before you commit.
Can you guarantee the fit?
No honest tailor guarantees a fit in words. What we can do is take the measurement set carefully, read it back to you, and confirm the fit preference — closer or looser, longer or shorter — before cutting.
Can you match two garments for brothers, or a father and son?
That is one of the most common requests, and it is well suited to tailoring. Send both sets of measurements and the date, and we will confirm whether both can be made together and what it involves.
What if my measurement set is wrong?
We read every measurement back to you before the order proceeds, which catches most errors. If a garment arrives and the fit is off because of our measurement work, that is ours to resolve — the exact terms are being confirmed and will be published on the returns page.
Do you tailor for children?
Yes, with a parent or guardian handling the request and taking the measurements. Camera-assisted measurement is not available for children's garments.
Can I bring my own fabric?
Whether outside fabric can be used depends on the garment and the work involved, so ask us before you arrange anything. We will confirm it alongside the quote.
Is the camera measurement accurate enough to order from?
No. It is a preview of a possible future feature: it needs your permission to start, it can be stopped at any moment, and it does not produce or send a measurement set. Order from an appointment or a guided measurement instead.
What happens after I send the consultation form?
The details stay on your device in this prototype, so nothing is sent to us yet. Once the service is connected, a person reads the request, checks it against what can be made, and replies with a position and a quote before anything proceeds.
